July 28, 2018 @ 7:30 pm

with La Caro (Guitarrista), Clarita (Cante y Baile), Manuel Guitierrez (Cante y Baile), Gerardo Morales (Percussion), Alfredo Caceres (Mandola y Palmas), and Molina (Guitarra)
Experience a fiery evening of music and dance exploring the shared roots of Ladino/Sephardic and Flamenco music with maestro Molina and his gifted ensemble musicians, vocalists, and dancers. The Spanish music we know today is a continuously evolving fusion of Arabic, Hebrew, Greek and Persian influences with local folk music and dances dating back to ancient times. But when asked to reflect on the musical heritage of Flamenco, Paco de Lucia, a leading proponent of the new flamenco style, remarked, “I used to think that Flamenco has more of an Arabic influence, but now I am almost sure that the Flamenco we do today is most profoundly affected by the music of the Toledo Jews at the time.”
