[POSTPONED] Violins of Hope: Mostly Kosher
March 28, 2020 @ 8:00 pm
We at TIOH Arts & Culture have been closely following the COVID-19 outbreak. The health, safety, and well-being of our staff, artists, audiences, congregation, and our fellow Los Angelenos has been and continues to be our top priority, and with that in mind, we’ve made the decision to postpone all shows and events through at least Sunday, April 20 to support citywide efforts to reduce the coronavirus spread. Current ticket holders will be sent an email with additional details on their canceled performance but for inquiries, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
presented as part of the Violins of Hope project
A month-long citywide celebration, the Violins of Hope project features virtuosic performances on a collection of violins, violas, and cellos rescued from the Holocaust and restored by Israeli luthiers Amnon Weinstein and his son Avshalom. For our genre-bending concert, Mostly Kosher—the acclaimed klezmer gypsy-rock band led by Leeav Sofer and featuring violinist Janice Mautner Markham—reconstructs Judaic cultural music through klezmer beats and arresting Yiddish refrains, creating a world music feast for the senses.
